About Donald Britton Conrad
Born a decade after the Armistice, the author became acquainted with many veterans. He listened intently to the Doughboys tales, humorous and heartrending.

The author has a B.S. in Social Science, a M.A. in History, a M.S. in Counseling Psychology, and is a retired fellow of the British Gemmological Association.

After graduate school, he published numerous World War I articles. He currently has a military article awaiting publication. He served in the Korean conflict. His family served in the Civil War, World War I and II.

Several of his oil paintings hang in the South Carolina Military Museum in Greenville. Portraits of Generals Pershing, Foch and Haig are among them.

In January 1995, Mr. Conrad achieved recognition as an "Honorary 'Buddy' member" of the Veterans of World War I of the U.S.A., Inc.
